C-bus energy management how can it help you?
C-bus has the ability to manage your electricity to reduce demand with small programming changes that will make a difference. Occupancy sensors ensure that lights are not left burning in rooms or area's that are not occupied. Dimmer units can be programmed to a maximum of 80% - 90%, thus reducing electricity usgae. This would not be noticable to the naked eye. This has the added benefit of extending globe life.
High Usage electrical appliances can be scheduled to not be used at the same time eg: stoves & geysers. Geysers can be scheduled to turn off during peak demand periods.

Irrigation systems, with the aid of moisture probes, can be controlled to only water when necessary, reducing water & electricity consumption.

Automated curtains can be closed in winter, when the ambient temperature drops too low to reduce heat lose & to save your under floor heating being maxed out.

Light circuits can be controlled so that lights can only turned on when the lux level drops below a predetermined threshold – so lights will only be used when necessary rather than because they are there .

External security sensors & proximity sensors can be programmed so that security flood lights only come on when movement is detected.

My calculations & trials have shown that a 30% drop in consumption is quite easily achieved in a home with two geysers, under floor heating, irrigation & a swimming pool.
